Offshore Search and Rescue
Mangawhai Heads Volunteer Lifeguard Service operates a coastal search and rescue unit using an 18-foot rigid hull inflatable offshore rescue boat. This unit responds to boating, diving and bar crossing emergencies as well as emergency response to adjacent coastal swimming areas.
