The Mangawhai Heads Volunteer Lifeguard Service is committed to the prevention of drowning and injury through the provision of lifeguarding and water safety.
The 2009/2010 patrolling season has commenced, Labour Weekend 2009 . MHVLS Volunteer Lifeguards will be patrolling Mangawhai Surf Beach each weekend and public holiday until Easter 2010, the hours 11am to 4pm.
Members of the public can report a water rescue emergency by calling 111 and asking for police.

VOLLYBALL ON THE BEACH in front of the Surf Club.
Make up a team of 5 or come along and join in a team, $2 per player with BBQ dinners available for $10 per plate.
4pm start : January 9th and February 6th.
